ABOUT ALR
Sandy Glenn, a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, has been in the lighting field for over forty-five years. At heart an entrepreneur, he opened his own business in 1987 with a focus on the art of custom design and a strong desire to share with others his love of contemporary lighting. The basic realization that Omaha, Nebraska, had little to offer to its residents in this style, prompted Sandy to choose this location for his own niche store. After more than thirty-five years, his love of this contemporary art form has only increased; he stays current with all the newest products by attending design shows, lighting markets, and new technology conventions. Though based in Omaha, he also travels to bring state-of-the-art custom lighting design and home automation to clients across the country.

ALR was originally known as Lamps, Lights, and Shades, a small lighting gallery located in Miracle Hills. Over the years, it acquired its present name, and relocated to Rockbrook Village, Midtown, the House & Home Center in West Omaha, and currently Empire Spectrum. However, amidst the changing names and locations, our passion, total dedication, creativity, and reliability have remained the same.
ALR provides a wide range of services, such as consultation, new product procurement and installation, as well as ongoing maintenance. Initially focused solely on lighting design and product sales, ALR expanded to include lighting control and home automation. The target market has developed from mainly residential projects to also meeting commercial needs, including locations such as restaurants, office buildings, corporate conference rooms, and hospitals. Rob Perran
Rob Perran (on right), after attending Creighton University, entered the world of lighting and has been with ALR for over 20 years. As a native Nebraskan, he is well equipped to serve our customers in the west and midwestern regions. For every project, his detailed attention to the customer’s vision allows him to successfully incorporate the client’s personality into each lighting design. Rob’s unique ability to creatively illuminate space within the structural limitations offered, has greatly contributed to the steady growth of ALR’s business.
